UMeeto
Privacy Policy
App: UMeeto | Last updated: August 3, 2026 | Contact: solieladisynne4714@outlook.com
This Privacy Policy explains how UMeeto (“we”, “us”, or “the App”) handles information when you use our iOS application.
App positioning: UMeeto helps outdoor travelers (hiking, camping, cycling, and similar trips) build packing lists, track backpack weight, avoid missing essentials with Trail Ready Scan, and browse offline outdoor knowledge before departure.
1. Information We Collect
- Session / preferences: On-device login state and related settings (no traditional username/password server account is required for core use).
- User content: Trip names and dates, packing items, consumables, trip logs, gear library entries (name, category, weight, quantity, notes), optional gear/trip images, and knowledge unlock state.
- Purchase data: Virtual coin balance and consumable in-app purchase outcomes processed via Apple StoreKit.
- Device capability checks: Used to present camera/photo pickers and StoreKit. The current build does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
- AI recognition inputs: If you use Auto-recognize on a gear photo, the selected image is encoded on device and sent to our configured image-to-text API to suggest gear fields.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide packing lists, weight totals, packing progress, Trail Ready Scan, and offline knowledge.
- Persist your gear library and trips on device for reuse.
- Process coin purchases and spends (for example AI recognize and unlocking paid knowledge items).
- Prefill gear fields when you voluntarily use image recognition.
- Respond to support requests you send to our contact email.
3. Local Storage vs. Server Storage
- Local storage (primary): Trips, gear, images, coin balance, knowledge unlock flags, and preferences are stored in the App sandbox on your device.
- Network: Used for optional AI gear recognition and for opening Privacy/Terms pages in Safari. In-app purchases are processed by Apple.
- Deleting the App or using Delete Account clears local App data as described below.
4. AI Features & Image Processing
UMeeto’s only AI feature is optional Auto-recognize for gear photos. When you trigger it:
- The image is compressed/encoded on device and transmitted to a third-party image-to-text model API configured by the App.
- The response is used only to suggest gear name, category, and estimated weight. Suggestions may be inaccurate; review before saving.
- Do not upload images of other people or sensitive documents you do not want processed.
5. Device Permissions
| Permission | When Used | Purpose |
| Camera | When you choose to take a photo | Capture gear or trip cover images |
| Photo Library | When you choose an existing photo | Attach images to gear or trips |
You can revoke permissions in iOS Settings. Core packing features still work without camera or library access.
6. Third-Party Services
- Apple StoreKit / App Store: Processes consumable in-app purchases.
- Image-to-text API: Used only for optional gear Auto-recognize.
- Open-source libraries: SnapKit, Alamofire, Kingfisher. No Adjust, Facebook, Firebase Analytics, or App Tracking Transparency SDK is included in the current build.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Data may be processed by Apple (purchases) and by the AI API provider when you use Auto-recognize. We may disclose information if required by law.
8. Data Retention
Local content remains on your device until you delete it, use Delete Account, or remove the App. Purchase records retained by Apple follow Apple’s policies.
9. Account Deletion
In Profile → Delete Account, UMeeto wipes local trips, gear, images, knowledge unlock state, and related App data on device (except limited first-launch flags used to avoid incorrectly repeating one-time onboarding rewards). This cannot be undone.
10. Security
We use device sandbox storage and HTTPS for network calls where applicable. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
11. Children's Privacy
UMeeto is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
12. International Users
The App is intended for a global audience. If you use the App outside your home country, your information may be processed in regions where Apple or the AI API provider operate.
13. Your Choices & Rights
- Edit or delete trips and gear inside the App.
- Deny camera/photo permissions.
- Skip AI recognition to avoid image upload.
- Delete Account to clear local App data.
- Contact us for privacy questions. The current build does not use App Tracking Transparency; if tracking is added later, you can manage it in iOS Settings.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised Policy.
